Fall Prevention and Safety for Caregivers

Are you providing care for a family member or friend? Are you concerned with the well being of a parent? Join other family caregivers at this free event on Fall Prevention and Safety offered by the Caregiver Coalition of San Diego and the Fall Prevention Task Force.
The event includes community resources, free onsite respite care for your loved one, continental breakfast, lunch, and educational presentations:
- Balance and Fall Prevention: Gain an understanding of the fall epidemic, including risk factors for falls and the serious consequences of falls. Learn what can be done to reduce your risk and prevent falls.
- When is it Time to Step in? How do you know when it’s time to offer to help someone? Learn about resources and having “the conversation”.
- Home Safety: Learn to identify trouble spots in the home; learn methods to make the home safer for the care receiver, and obtain helpful community resources.
- Aging in Place: Medical Equipment and Devices: Learn about equipment that can help someone live safely in their home. Identify barriers to safety in the home.
